Dr Siva Sivappriyan is a leading consultant physician in diabetes and endocrinology and honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London. His areas of expertise include diabetes; thyroid, parathyroid, and pituitary conditions; osteoporosis, and hormone problems. He is currently based at Lyca Health, a premium provider of specialist consulting services in Canary Wharf and Orpington in London; KIMS Hospital, the largest independent private hospital in Maidstone, Kent; One Ashford Hospital in Ashford and the Spire Alexandra Hospital where he provides comprehensive private care in Medway and the surrounding areas.
Dr Sivappriyan completed his specialist training in London at Royal Free and University College London Hospitals. In 2012, he obtained his MRCP (Diabetes and Endocrinology) and then in 2018 became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London.
Aside from practising as a consultant, Dr Sivappriyan is currently the lead for Young Adults with Diabetes, an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London, the college tutor and Governance Lead for Maidstone, and actively involved with training junior doctors and medical students. In addition, he is a DAFNE educator and both a national and international speaker in his expert field.
Dr Sivappriyan treats all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology, however, he has a special interest in thyroid and pituitary gland disorders and complex diabetes. He has a clinical interest in treating excessive hair growth, hair loss (alopecia), period problems (absent or irregular periods), and erection and sex drive problems. He also treats all aspects of various metabolic problems including fatty liver and lipid problems and helps patients to reduce their cardiovascular risk through comprehensive care. He is heavily involved in multiple research activities within his field.
