Born in South Africa. Trained in Sydney, Australia before coming to Oxford on an Australasian Training Fellowship in 1992. Worked in Cardiff as a Neurology Registrar, before a Consultant appointment to Oldchurch Hospital in Romford. Runs a general Neurology clinic at Barnet Hospital, and Epilepsy and a one-stop First Seizure clinic at the Royal Free Hospital. Epilepsy Lead, Epilepsy Initiative Group at the Royal Free Hospital; and Advisor to Barnet Learning Disability Services.
Past Honorary Secretary of the Association of British Neurologists (2010-12), Chair of Map of Medicine for Epilepsy (2008-11), past Honorary Secretary and President Elect of Clinical Neuroscience Section, Royal Society of Medicine. Involved in epilepsy research and development at the Royal Free Hospital. Published on general neurology, epilepsy and headache.
